How to Mend a Broken Heart

A lot of us girls have been there. Down in the dumps and heartbroken because of a break in the relationship.

This article will hopefully help you to heal your heart by suggesting ideas that you could use to distract yourself from the pain of breakup.

I know all too well how it feels to have your heart broken. I also know of many girls who have broken up with their boyfriend and then fall down into sadness and sometimes depression.

It could also happen with unrequited love. To love someone who doesn’t love you back is an experience that I have also felt. All that you want to do when you break up is think of the good times that you and your partner had. I remember always daydreaming about my partner and reliving very good experience that I had with him.

But daydreaming about your past love can get dangerous if it starts to dig deeper into sadness and maybe depression. At this crucial time, it is important that you spend time with yourself and surround yourself with people that care about you such as your friends or family.

One way to help heal your broken heart is to distract yourself from thinking about your past love.

The following five suggestions I have put to use to help me forget and move on from past love.

  • Exercise. This is something that you can do that doesn’t cost you any money. You don’t have to do extremely rigorous exercise but even taking a walk outside in the fresh air can help release good hormones that have been proven to lift your spirits.
  • Give yourself a manicure and pedicure. This is a fun activity that you can do with your girlfriends. Spending an afternoon in the beauty salon is sure to make you feel pampered. If you can’t afford a beauty salon, then just give yourself a manicure and pedicure yourself with your favorite color nail polish.
  • Cook a nice meal for yourself or for your close friends. The whole process of cooking a meal will surely make you forget about him, even if it is only for a short while. Just pick out a recipe from your favorite cookbook, or from the internet, and then go out to the grocery store to purchase the ingredients. Come home and then prepare and cook this meal. After an hour or so, you will have a delicious meal that you can eat. Yummy!
  • Go out with your friends to the local mall and do some clothes shopping. You don’t have to make a big dent in your credit card but you can still have fun trying on clothes, even if you don’t buy them.
  • Take up a hobby. When I am feeling down, I like to busy myself by doing crafts such as knitting. If you don’t know how to knit, you can surely find a short term course that you could participate in. Go with you friends and soon, you will be able to make your first woolen scarf.

These are just five suggestions on how to distract yourself so that you can mend your broken heart. I know how hard it is to get over past love but over time, you will learn to move on without him.On my website, you can find other ways to distract yourself from sadness.
